Flagstaff, Arizona (AHN) - A judge ruled Friday to allow officials at Arizona Snowball to use treated wastewater to make snow.

The ruling angered Native American tribes, such as The Hopi Tribe, the Navajo Nation and others, who say that the move will taint a mountain that they consider to be sacred. Snowbowl is located in the Coconino National Forest in the San Francisco Peaks, which is federal land. However, the company is owned and operated in the private sector.

Snowbowl officials say that a lack of snow has left the ski resort struggling and that adding new snow artificially is necessary. The water will be treated by pipeline, coming from Flagstaff.

U.S. District Judge Paul Rosenblatt said in his ruling that the project didn't infringe on the tribes' religious practices because they didn't do so within the realms of the project area.

Actually I think that was mine in front of your truck.

We're gonna have to start writing our names so we can identify them.

Arizona Snowbowl is an all or nothing mountain. Either they have seasons where they get dumped on repeatedly, or they have seasons where they have absolutely zero snow.

When I was at Mineral Basin for the final run of the day, I realized I was the only person on the "road"/traverse...I then realized I needed to make some yellow snow.

Then, I see someone coming towards me as I hold my meat and veg in the Utah breeze and he's wearing a red jacket.

I quickly brush some powder over the yellow and say, "Can I take some pics?"

"Just don't take too long, cause we're closing."

"OK"

It was sweet to have the whole basin to yourself as the sun set.

Is making yellow snow against the Skier's Code of Conduct?

No sir. Peeing in one's pants is against the Skier's Code of Conduct.
