We posted the latest ski report update at noon today, after spending a little "Santa Time" with the family.

Conditions should be GREAT today! All of the ski areas have made snow and the sun is shining, we have Carolina Blue Skies…and the temps are COLD.

We’ve had some great On-Snow Reports (see below) and all are reporting nice slope conditions. We have had some isolated complaints about one resort (not who you’re thinking) and we ARE looking into that. We’ll post information as we get it.

There are more slope openings now than at any time so far this season and more should be opening with all of the snowmaking that the resorts are doing. All of the ski areas in the Southeast are reporting about 2" to 6" more base depths than yesterday at this time. That is a testament to the latest technology in snowmaking equipment and the COLD temps that we’ve had.

We DID see ONE anomoly that we’re checking on asap. Yesterday morning Appalachian reported a base of 36"-46" which was an increase of 8" from the previous day…and NOW TODAY they are reporting a 22" increase from yesterday morning with a report of from 38" to 68". Either that’s an error or they’re measuring PILES of snow. No fair guys!

Sugar announced that they have opened up their new Easy Street Extension and a NEW MAGIC CARPET LIFT in their beginner area. They also plan to have TUBING running soon as well.

The forecast for the next week looks SUNNY and seasonbly cold with highs in the 30’s to 40’s late in the week and LOWS in the teens – twenties to 30s late. It should be GREAT for skiing and riding my friends. Get out and enjoy the conditions at YOUR favorite resort.
