Today’s featured photo is from App Ski Mountain as they shared a photo of the one and only Santa on the slopes last season. Look for him to be back out there again today.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone.

A beautiful Christmas Eve sunrise at Wisp this morning.

All is quiet throughout Ski Southeast territory this morning. It is going to be a beautiful day out on the mountains today after yesterday’s mixed bag of gloomy conditions in the southern part of the region while it was pretty nice at the northern resorts.

Today is going to be sunny and bright which will be awesome if you are able to get out on the slopes. It is going to be a tad on the warmer side, but that won’t stop the fun.

Check the Snow Report for the latest conditions.

As Mike noted this weekend, there was a strong chance that things wouldn’t change much and so far he has hit the nail on the head.

There were minor updates (mostly hours and temperatures) this morning as things held status quo across the area from yesterday.

Canaan Valley was able to get snowmaking turned on last night as its strong start to the season continues. There is plenty of snow on the slopes and conditions look to be fabulous this week wherever you find yourself.

With Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, there are some adjustments to operating hours.

All is calm at Cataloochee this morning.

Here is a quick look at who is open when over the next two days:

App Ski Mountain – Open 9-5 Today, 1-10 on Christmas Day
Beech Mountain – Open 9-5 Today, Open 1-10 on Christmas Day
Bryce Resort – Open 9-5 Today, 11-7 on Christmas Day
Cataloochee – Open 8:30-4:30 Today, 1-10 on Christmas Day
Massanutten – Open 9-5 Today, 12-8 on Christmas Day
Ober Gatlinburg – Open 9-4 Today, 12-10 on Christmas Day
Sapphire Valley – Open 9-5 Today, 12-8 on Christmas Day
Sugar Mountain – Open 9-4:30 Today, 12-10 on Christmas Day (they will be closed between 4:30 and 6:00 to maintain the slopes)
Wintergreen – Open 9-5 Today, 11-9 on Christmas Day
Wolf Ridge – Open 9-4:30 Today, Closed on Christmas Day

The resorts not mentioned are slated to have their normal operating hours, but that is subject to change.

One other notable is that The Omni Homestead will resume ski and snowboarding operations tomorrow with stellar conditions. The resort is decked out for Christmas and looks absolutely stunning. For a glimpse at their decorations, check out this photo they shared last night.

Rumor has it that Santa will be making some stops at a few resorts today as he prepares for his run tonight. He will be at App from 1-4 today riding on the slopes while having story time at Wintergreen and Wisp at 1.

That Santa is a busy guy this time.

That is all for today. Until next time, #ThinkSnow!
