It’s going to be hard to top Sunday, but Monday is going to try.

Yesterday was quite possibly the best day of the 2019-20 season to be on the slopes so far, and it looked fantastic conditions wise.

Today is a bluebird day alert – it is going to be absolutely gorgeous across the region with springlike weather conditions. It is going to be a warmer day, but it will still be a great day to get some turns in if you are able.

Kenny was out at Beech Mountain yesterday and was stoked with the conditions. He mentioned that it was the best all-around snow conditions he has seen in years. Check out some of the photos (including today’s featured image) that he took.

The slopes are still in outstanding shape this today to start the week. For the latest conditions, be sure to hop over to the Snow Reports page.

A couple of notables from around the resorts this morning.

  • The 45th annual Cupp Run Challenge is on today at Snowshoe. The legendary event will take place on Cupp Run – which will be closed all day, but upper and lower Shay’s will remain open.
  • Omni Homestead and Ski Sapphire are closed as part of their season schedule. Homestead will open on Thursday, while Sapphire is set to open back on Friday.
  • Speaking of Homestead, Executive Pastry Chef Leen Kim will compete on the premiere episode of Chopped Sweets on the Food Network. It will air tonight at 10p.
  • Some cool news on Sunday from Davis, WV as the Timberline Resort camera came back online meaning power and internet have been restored.

A new Facebook page for Timberline opened up late last week under the new name Timberline Mountain and new signage also popped up. They have a really cool logo, and it is great to see things happening.

Today will be the pick of the day weather-wise as some underdeveloped rain will move in for the next couple of days before we have another shot of cold air and a chance of natural snow.

That will do it for today. Until next time, #ThinkSnow!
