Thursday’s winter storm delivered in parts of the region with some impressive snow totals.

It is going to be an incredible (but cold) Friday on the slopes after the storm moved through late yesterday bringing us the best conditions of the season.

The West Virginia resorts were the big winners with the Virginia resorts and Wisp were not far behind.

Canaan Valley and Timberline doubled their season snow total in the last 24 hours with 13.5 inches.

Snowshoe had one of their highest storm totals in a long time with 13″ of Cheat Mountain magic.

Winterplace also received 8″ of fresh snow, while over in Maryland Wisp reported just over 6″ of fresh powder.

It is always great to see the Virginia resorts get in on the snow action as Bryce, Massanutten, and the Omni Homestead received 4″ of fresh snow, while Wintergreen received 3″.

The North Carolina High Country resorts were on the lower end of the totals after the storm tracked more northwest than forecast, but there were still some decent totals.

Beech and Sugar received 3.5″ of snow, while Wolf Ridge is reporting 2″ of fresh.

The best part?

It is still snowing as we see some northwest flow snow occurring this morning.

Mike shared these videos this morning – one is from Tynecastle near Sugar Mountain and the other is off the back deck of the Ski Southeast offices.

Such pretty snow.

Our own Brad Panovich shared his latest skier’s forecast overnight and the news is fantastic.

It is amazing how quickly that switch flipped.

As Brad mentioned, this is the coldest air so far of the season as we are seeing temperatures in the low single digits this morning, and they aren’t going to get much higher so be sure to cover up and layer up.

The cold air has allowed the mountain operation crews to work their magic as snowmaking is going full blast.

This weekend is going to be incredible as we have some of the best conditions of the season.

With this round of snow, the resorts were pretty busy on social media (as always).

Canaan Valley caught this great clip right as the snow started to accumulate.

There hasn’t been a reopening date set just yet for Canaan, but I imagine we will hear today or this weekend.

Snowshoe shared a picture of the official measurement (which is also our featured image today).

App shared this great shot this morning as winter came back with a vengeance.

If you are hitting the slopes today, send us your pictures and videos. We would love to feature your adventures.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow.
