Maggie Valley, NC – Snowmaking has been in progress since 3am this morning and we are currently receiving some natural snowfall as well! Temperatures are forecasted to be in the teens this evening and the low 20’s throughout the week and we will continue snowmaking round the clock in order to reopen on Saturday, December 3, at 8:30am. We are currently making snow from the top of the mountain down on Upper Snowbird Trail, Rock Island Run, Alley Cat, Cat Cage Terrain Park, Lower Omigosh, Rabbit Hill, Over Easy, Easy Way, Beginner’s Luck and Wolf Creek Hollow…10 out of 16 trails! We will keep you posted as snowmaking continues! Don’t forget that Sunday, December 4 is our 10th annual Can-U-Ski Food and Coat Drive for Haywood Christian Ministries. 10 cans of food (or more!) and/or a warm winter coat in good condition will get you a free lift ticket from 8:30am-4:30pm on Sunday, December 4 only. It’s a $58 value. Celebrate the season by helping us give back to our wonderful community by sharing with others. It’s a great way to start the holidays and have some fun with your friends at Cataloochee as well.
We will also begin snowmaking at our tubing area, Tube World, located in Maggie Valley, 4 miles from the ski area during the upcoming week and we hope to open Tube World on Saturday as well. We will keep you posted as we progress through the week but persons planning tubing for December 3, should check back with us on Friday, December 2 for an updated report.
