Today seems to be shaping up as a “Shared FirsTrax” day as David McCue posted some great stuff and as you’ll read in a moment, AND we have some content to share from Timberline Resort as well.

First HERE is David’s Report from Wintergreen Resort!

David McCue Chased the Snow to Wintergreen Resort on Friday

He provided a great TRIP REPORT and now he’s headed to Vermont. I want to be him when I grow up!

Tracy Edmonds Herz Makes a Statement from Timberline Resort

Love her, like her or hate her…she’s interesting! We posted her statement earlier this morning and it’s already going viral. Read her statement here.

Let’s get to the written SNOW REPORT (Scroll below for more FirsTrax.)

ONE MORE DAY OF RIDING BEECH MOUNTAIN

Beech Mountain Resort – 9 of 17 slopes and they are in great shape for Saturday – which will be their last day of the 2018-2019 ski and snowboading season.

Two More Days of Fun Left At These Mountains

Appalachian Ski Mountain – 100% Open (12 of 12 with a 54″-109″ base).

Massanutten Resort – You would think it’s mid season if you looked at their slopes and the snow report. They are open for day and night sessions today and they open with 12 of 14 trails and 8 lanes of snow tubing. They are reflecting a Sunday closing at this time.

Wintergreen Resort – is calling it quits on Sunday. It is NUTS how much snow fell at Wintergreen Thursday night and Friday. They are open today with 15 slopes and trails (one more than yesterday!), it’s 28 degrees and will warm up to the mid-40s, and they will have brilliant sun all day. The groomers were out all night and have put down beautiful corduroy for first tracks. Every photo up that way looks like mid-Winter and yet there’s two days left in their season.

Closing March 23rd, 24th or 31st (Still deciding)

Winterplace Resort – MAN these guys look great with 23 of 27 trails open for day sessions on a base of 24-44″. They are still reflecting the potential of closing after day sessions TODAY, Saturday the 23rd. However they are also hinting at possible “bonus days”. We will keep you informed.

Bryce Resort – 7 of 8 slopes open and tubing with a 12-18″ base. Bryce will play until at least Sunday the 24th and may decide to extend through the 31st. No word yet.

It Isn’t Over Until THEY Say it’s Over (At least March 31st)

Cataloochee Ski Area – it is 28° there this morning and it still looks, feels and rides like winter at the Maggie Valley ski resort. Chris Bates and his crew has Cat open with 13 of 18 trails to the top of the mountain with a strong, 31-71″ base. No word on when they will close but it’s safe to bet on operating at least through March 31st.

Snowshoe Mountain – Good LORD guys…one look at their Shaver’s Center webcam will attest to how sweet it IS at Snowshoe. It is 17° there this morning and while the Silvercreek side of the mountain is closed for the season, Snowshoe is still boasting 42 open trails including Upper and Lower Cupp, Shays Revenge and all of the favorites. On top of that they picked up 4″ of new snow on Friday! There’s one more week left to enjoy what is MID SEASON conditions. It’s crazy how good Snowshoe looks today!

Check out how much base is built up at the bottom of Ballhooter.

Mother Nature has delivered a fresh 4″ of the good stuff for us and we’re excited to sample the corduroy at rope drop this morning. We couldn’t ask for better conditions here for late March. We’re open through the end of the month with the cheapest rates on lift tickets, lodging, and rentals of the entire season so get up here and take advantage. Can’t beat mid-season conditions at value season prices! Widowmaker will be delayed until late morning for ski team training.

Our Pond Skim and our Season Passholder Appreciation Party are today! More info in This Week On The Mountain.

While we are still on Snowshoe…Steve Skarupa has been sending some great photos from Snowshoe all season long and he compiled this nice video with some of his favorites from this season. Check it out!

Wisp Resort – Open with 15 of 34 slopes and man does it look SWEET via the webcams up there!

Wisp Resort is aiming to close the mountain on March 31st so make sure to get your last few days of winter in and purchase your Lift Tickets in advance for discounts. It has been an epic winter for snowmaking with over 54 days of pumping water, making this the most snow our Mountain Ops team has produced in the last 11 years. We spent 1,053 hours with our snow machines on since November and so long as mother nature allows, we will have a 108 day season this year, closing on March 31st which makes this one of our longest seasons in nearly a decade.

PUTTING THE WRAPS ON A GREAT SEASON AT CANAAN VALLEY RESORT

Last week I was so tied up in St Paddy’s Day and Boone Rail Jam fun, I didn’t get around to sharing Justin Harris’ last Mountain Report from up at Canaan Valley Resort. It was a great one AS ALL of his were this season.
