Winter Bike Jam

The 2015 Bryce Bike Park Winter Bike Jam will be a race down the Redeye ski slope. This event is designed to be a fun event for both riders and spectators. There will be music for everyone to enjoy and plenty of laughs to go around.

Bikes

This event is designed for any bike 24″ and taller and fat bikes.

What to wear

It will be winter so please dress accordingly. A bike helmet (half lid or full face) is required. We also recommend goggles and gloves. If you would like to dress up in costume, please make sure it is family friendly.

Race Course

The course will begin at the top of Lift #1 at the top of the mountain. The first section will just be a straight stretch until you arrive at the first slalom gate. Racers will work their way through the gates until the first head wall (steep section). Racers will then begin working their way through more gates on the first head wall until they reach a banked left hand berm where they will begin a high speed decent until reaching a right hand berm. Racers will work their way through some rollers until reaching the finish line. The course will be entirely on snow.

Race Format

This race is a mass start race with specific heats. The amount of entries will determine how many move on to the next heat.

At 4:45pm, racers will start loading their bikes on the trailers and riding in provided transportation to the top of the mountain. There will be a constant shuttle for riders to get back to the top of the mountain.

Practice time for the event will be from 5pm to 6 pm.

At 6:15, the first heat will begin and will be the women’s heat, followed by the men’s 18 & under, and then the men 19 & over.

Racing plates

We will provide ski racing jerseys that will fit over your winter coats. There will be a $10 fee for lost/unreturned jerseys.
