Spring Fling @ Ober

The winter season celebration will be held on March 9th. We will have a Giant Slalom race, Big Air contest, and Pond Skimming.
Also, the second annual Ski School vs. Ski Patrol competition will be held with Ski Patrol trying to retain the Golden Boot. Plenty of prizes and giveaways as we celebrate another great season! (Please note we are NOT closing for the season on March 9th.)
Event Date: Sunday, March 9, 2014
Registration: Saturday, March 1 through Saturday, March 8 at Guest Services
March 9 registration ($20 late registration) begins at 10am at the slope gate
Registration Fee: $15 in advance or $20 day of event
Requirements: Waiver must be completed to receive bib; minors require parent/guardian signature. Helmets mandatory. Must be able to ski Grizzly to compete in the Giant Slalom.
Day of Event Schedule:
10:00 am – 3:30 pm ~ Registration at slope gate; turn in waiver and receipt or payment to receive bib and shirt.
12:00 pm ~ Mandatory Participant Meeting (outside Ski School Building)
12:30 – 2:00 pm ~ Giant Slalom – 1 run per competiton
2:00 – 2:30 pm ~ Jump Practice
2:30 – 3:30 pm ~ Jump Competition – 2 jumps per competitor
3:30 – 4:30 pm ~ Break for Competitors
Ski School vs. Ski Patrol events (Highest Uphill Curve and Most Turns)
4:30 – 5:30 pm ~ Pond Skimming
6:00 pm ~ Awards and wrap-up in Seasons of Ober Restaurant
Video Contest: Submitter with the most Facebook “Likes” receives a Go-Pro Hero 3
Maximum 2 minimum video highlighting the Go-Pro/Ober Gatlinburg Spring Fling 2014
Deadline for video submission is 10pm EST on Friday, March 15,2014
One video will be posted on the Ober Gatlinburg Facebook page each day at 9am beginning on March 17th. Submitter will be emailed in advance of the date his/her video will be posted. Submitter has 24 hours (9am – 9am on day of post) to solicit and secure “Likes”. Winner will be announced based on number of “likes” after all videos have been posted. More details to follow.
