It's the first full week in February and the slope life is easy. Quite a bit is happening around the resorts between now and Sunday. For starters, SNOW is happening! How about it? I hope you're all reading this with not a care in the world 🙂 The season is here for all to enjoy.

The recent snowfall keeps on piling up. I tell ya, my math skills are being sharpened every day. It's not easy adding and subtracting at 7 in the morning. Many resorts gained a few more inches in the past 24 hours, with Canaan seeing the most in the last 72 hour stretch, at a total of 18.5 inches. We still have some favorable weather patterns in the future so plan your trips as you like. In case any of the below influences when and where you'll go, check out what's happening where this week.

Two quick highlights: Today's the day – the much anticipated opening of the OZ run at Beech, and it's Two for Tuesday at Wolf.

@App – Ladies Park Night is this Saturday, Feb 9. For our Ladies Park Sessions, a custom terrain park area with features specifically designed for learning and progression is setup and offered to ladies exclusively. Trick tip coaches will be on hand for the event to offer advice and guidance if needed. These sessions are open to women of all age and ability, both skiers & snowboarders.

@Cat – This Thursday, February 7 and Friday, February 8 are Law Enforcement Appreciation Days. Cataloochee supports the law enforcement by offering a special reduced rate for law enforcement personnel with valid ID and their families. This special package is only $27 per person and includes a 1 1/2 hour lesson, lift ticket for either day, twilight or night skiing and rental equipment! The combined savings is $56 per person over Cataloochee's regular rates!

@Beech – College week is in full swing, with discounted lift tickets available for all students with a valid ID. This weekend, Beech Mountain will hold their Banked Slalom Competition, see below for details. And last but certainly not least, OZ IS OPEN. The Oz Run, a guest favorite off the backside of the mountain is open for the first time this season. (The cool photo is courtesy of Beech Mtn 2013)

@Sugar – On Sunday, Feb 10, the High Country Junior Race Series Giant Slalom takes place. It's a Giant Slalom competition for all High Country junior racers. Registration is from 7:30am-8:30am. Race stats at 9am on BIG RED.

@Wolf – It's Two for Tuesday again! Buy one lift ticket, get the second one free. They have great conditions out there today as they're still enjoying all the great natural snow from the weekend.

@Wintergreen – Winterfest is this Friday through Sunday, February 8-10.

@Winterplace – Nothing specific to this week, but something new to me– Did you know if you reserve rentals online, you get 10% off? Check Out their On-line Rental Form, Complete your rental form online, and you will receive a coupon for 10% off your Ski or Snowboard rental. How cool is that!?

@Ober – This Friday, Feb 8 is TN College Night from 6PM to 10PM. A current College ID from any college is required along with 6 canned goods or non-perishable items for a free 6pm-10pm Lift Ticket. Head over to the slopes for a night of fun and recreation to support The Sevier County Food Ministries!

Make the most of these "primo conditions," in the words of theKENDOG, and add a few more notches under your Days on the Snow tallies. Check out the cameras if you need a little boost — you'll see more white than ever this season! (See Winterplace, Shown Left)
