Today’s featured image is a beautiful shot from Beech Mountain. The views at the top are just awe-inspiring.

There’s light at the end of the warm spell.

After a week of Groundhog-esqe days, we are going to see some cooler temperatures return to end the weekend – which will set the stage quite nicely for the pre-Christmas week.

We have a little yuck to deal with over the next day and change, but it won’t be a complete washout and should be worth it.

Brad shared his latest Skier’s Forecast last Thursday night, and the news looks pretty promising.

Next week is shaping up quite nicely.

Today won’t be picture-perfect as it will be kind of a gray day, but it will still be a pretty good day to hit the slopes as there is plenty of snow to play on.

Timberline Mountain is set to resume operations today bringing our open resort total to seven.

App Ski Mountain, Beech Mountain, Cataloochee Ski Area, Snowshoe Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Wisp Resort continue to be open for skiing and riding.

We expect to see that number climb to 11 tomorrow as Winterplace will drop the rope on the 2021-22 season.

Bryce Resort, Massanutten Resort, and Wintergreen are also set to resume operations tomorrow.

For the complete report, be sure to hop over to the Snow Reports page.

One item to note is that Snowshoe is set to drop the rope over at Silver Creek for the first time this season this morning – along with night skiing and tubing.

Even though we are just a week from Christmas Eve, Santa will be making some turns at Winterplace this weekend.

I won’t be surprised if he visits a few more resorts over the coming week for one last bit of relaxation.

If you are in the North Carolina High Country this weekend, Beech Mountain continues the popular concert series with shows both tonight and tomorrow.

Those shows are always a blast.

If you are like me and scrambling for last-minute Christmas gifts (I have started for once though) this weekend, be sure to check out your giftee’s favorite resort as most have some cool resort gear or you can always gift lift tickets.

You can also check out the store here on SkiSoutheast for some cool merchandise.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
