The cold air is on our doorstep.

After a week of mild temps, rain, and just some general yuckiness, cold air and snowmaking temps will return today and tonight – with a chance of some light natural snow as a cherry on top.

Before we get to that, we have some lingering rain and milder temperatures for this morning. However, the temperatures will be dropping throughout the day.

Brad Panovich shared his latest Skier’s Forecast overnight and things are certainly looking promising.

Our mountain operation crews do an incredible job, and I am sure they are stoked looking at the forecast.

Rope drop the next couple of days will be pretty sweet conditions.

This week has been far from perfect weather-wise. However, the conditions have held up fairly well considering how much rain has fallen.

I drove by Sugar Mountain last night and it doesn’t look like the coverage has missed a beat as there is plenty of snow all over. That same story is playing out at most resorts.

Give the mountain operation crews a few hours, and we will be back to some incredible conditions for the weekend.

With the weather, we have had a few altered operation schedules.
Wolf Ridge suspended operations for Wednesday and Thursday, and now it has extended to today. They hope to be open for the weekend, and we will update as we hear more.

As a side note, Wolf Ridge’s website is still reporting that the quad lift is down so they would be limited terrain when they reopen. However, those things can change fast.

Omni Homestead also suspended operations on Thursday due to the weather, and they will start turning the lifts at noon today.

Wisp Resort is opening as scheduled this morning, but four lifts will have delayed openings due to the weather.
