Canaan Valley set to host West Virginia Governor’s Cup

The Southeast’s oldest running ski race is set to take place this weekend at Canaan Valley.

The West Virginia Governor’s Cup is set for this upcoming weekend with both giant slalom and slalom events scheduled. In addition to the races, Canaan Valley will also host a Winter Carnival event.

Governor’s Cup action will see the giant slalom event take place on Saturday, while Sunday’s action is set to be the slalom. The load lift for course inspection is set for 9 am with the racing starting at 9:30.

Registration is set for 6-9p on Friday at the Main Lodge or at 7:30a on Saturday and Sunday at Bear Paw Lodge.

The event is open to anyone who would like to participate.

The Winter Carnival is geared towards families with events on both Saturday and Sunday. Events will be held on the plaza outside of Quenchers Pub.
