I am hustling up a snow report this morning as I am in beautiful Canaan Valley Resort and West Virginia this morning and today.

Check the SNOW REPORT for all the deets

The photo up top is from Canaan Valley this morning as the lifts and awesome snow awaits! Gotta Go!

I’ll have to elaborate more later today, but man what a drive we had coming up late last night as the snow was bombing us for a lot of the trip through West Virginia. The drive up from Elkins to Canaan Valley was pretty sketchy but we made it to the Inn at 11pm and woke up this morning to about 6″ of new snow and drifts much deeper.

I also heard from Steve Skarupa who shared that Snowshoe Drive was closed for a bit last night with accidents scattered around the drive up to the Pocahontas County resort.

Obviously the DOT crews have done their thing by now and conditions will be fantastic for this Saturday as the snow is still falling here. The sun is supposed to make an appearance later and THAT will create some “Kodak moments”.

Here are some quick deets…and check back more later in the day as I plan to share some of the fun around the mountain here at Canaan Valley Resort later.

Canaan Valley Resort – 5.5″ of new snow!

Snowshoe Mountain Resort picked up 11″ of new snow. Frances, Jeffry and gang are up there this weekend. Looks like even our SkiSoutheast Summit After Party Crew are creating magic up there.

It’s going to be a fantastic Saturday with temperatures reaching the 30s and some late afternoon sunshine. While you’re out there enjoying the freshies, make sure to checkout Homegrown Festival events by Shavers Centre and in the Village at Snowshoe. Evolution and Mountaineer are open as green trails today with beginner-friendly rollers. Powder Day got you needing some gear? Stop by Full Tilt in the Village for all things snow!

From Steve Skarupa!

We received 11 inches of snow out of this storm and they had Snowshoe drive shut down last night due to multiple accidents. This is a photo if my deck that I just shot. Happy skiing ⛷

Appalachian Ski Mountain – 9am-4pm
The Appalachian Ski Patrol and App Ski Mtn. will proudly host the Annual Wounded Warrior Event on Saturday March 7th.

This is a one day event to honor, show support, and raise awareness for our Military’s Wounded Warriors.

Beech Mountain Resort – 3″ of new snow!

Winterplace Resort – 3″ of new snow!

Wisp Resort – 2″

Cataloochee Ski Area – 2″ of snow and making tons!

Massanutten Resort – Last night for night sessions tonight. Good timing as Snow Moon Fest is happening tonight!

Sapphire Valley – Closing after this weekend.

That will do it for today.

We’d REALLY LOVE IT…if you would:
