Country Roads West Virginia is the place to be for some fresh snow today.

For the fifth straight day, Canaan Valley, Snowshoe Mountain, and Timberline Mountain recorded over two inches of additional snow.

A snowy scene this morning at Canaan Valley

The Cheat Mountain Magic was in effect the past 24 hours as Snowshoe is reporting four fresh inches this morning. That brings their total since Saturday to 15 inches of snow.

Canaan Valley and Timberline weren’t far behind as they are reporting just under three inches of snow for the past 24 hours. Those two resorts have received nearly 16″ of fresh powder since Saturday.

Oh, and it is still snowing this morning. (You can go watch it snow over at ResortCams.com.)

Road trip, anyone?

Winterplace hasn’t received as much snow as their West Virginia counterparts, but they have received ample snow since Saturday as well.

Even if you aren’t able to make the road trip to the Mountain State today, conditions are incredible everywhere at all of our member resorts.

With the snow over the weekend and ample snowmaking opportunities, the slopes are in awesome shape with plenty of snow to play on for the midweek. The best part is there is plenty of terrain to play on as well.

How incredible is that?

For complete details on conditions, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

Here is a quick glance at conditions across the region:

North Carolina
App Ski Mountain – App is open 100% with 12 slopes and six lifts available today. They are reporting a 50-90″ base with a groomed surface.

As a friendly reminder, App Ski Mountain does require online reservations.

Beech Mountain – With last week’s addition of Oz Run, Beech is playing at 100% as well with 17 slopes open – which are serviced by six lifts. Beech is reporting a groomed surface with a 44-74″ base this morning.

Cataloochee – The Maggie Valley resort is holding at 100% as well as they are playing on 18 trails with five lifts spinning. They are riding and sliding on a 51-71″ base with a groomed surface.

Ski Sapphire Valley – Ski Sapphire will reopen on Friday as part of their regularly scheduled hours. When they reopen on Friday, we expect both slopes to be open with a groomed surface on a 58″ base.

Sugar Mountain – Sugar is 95% open today as they have 20 of 21 trails open for play with five lifts in operation. They are reporting a natural powder, manmade and frozen granular surface atop a 43-92″ base.

Wolf Ridge – The Wolf is playing on six trails with three lifts turning. They have a groomed surface with a 26-59″ base.

West Virginia
Canaan Valley – With the natural snow, Canaan is offering 45 trails today bringing them to 96% open. Those trails are serviced by four lifts. They are reporting a 20-30″ base with a packed powder and frozen granular surface.

Snowshoe – With today’s addition of Mountaineer at Silver Creek, 4848′ has reached the 100% open mark with 61 trails available for play today. They are reporting a 55″ base with packed powder conditions today.

Timberline – The Davis resort is offering 17 trails with all three lifts in operation today. With a packed powder surface, Timberline is offering a 16-60″ base.

Bryce Resort – Bryce isn’t quite at 100% as they are offering seven trails with three lifts for Wednesday. They have a 30″ base with a groomed surface.

Massanutten – The ‘Nut is playing on a groomed surface with a 32″ base. They are having fun on seven trails with six lifts in operation today.

Omni Homestead – The Omni Homestead will resume operations at noon on Thursday. I expect they will be offering at least four trails with both lifts in operation.

Wintergreen – Wintergreen is playing on a 32+” base for today. With a groomed surface, they have 18 trails with four lifts spinning.

Ober Gatlinburg – The incredible season at Ober continues as last week’s addition of Yeti Run and Ober Chute brought them to 80% open. They are reporting a groomed surface with a 37-52″ base with eight trails and three lifts open for play.

Today’s featured image is from Ober Gatlinburg – how sweet is that shot?

Wisp Resort – Wisp is reporting a 15″ base with a groomed and loose granular surface. They have 21 slopes open with eight lifts turning for Wednesday.

Conditions are going to be fantastic today no matter where you hit the slopes. If you hit the slopes today, be sure to send your photos over to us because we love to see them.

Social Shares
A couple of quick social media shares from yesterday that I thought was awesome.

App Ski Mountain had this beautiful early morning shot on Tuesday.

Bryce had a fantastic video that showed off the fun that was had for MLK Weekend.

Canaan Valley gave us a quick taste of Tuesday’s condition with a quick run down Valley Vista.

Tuesday was also #NoonSki day for the crew over at Ober Gatlinburg.

Last but not least, Snowshoe Mountain showed off the terrain parks.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
