Boone, NC – We’re seeing signs that Southeast and Mid Atlantic tourists are simply tired of sitting around and waiting on the economy to get better. During the same period in 2010 we saw 135,118 visitors for a 68% increase in traffic.

These numbers seem to be supported by numerous vacation rental companies that we work with. Bookings for the all-important Christmas-to-New Year period are up substantially with many of the ski areas reporting nearly booked up lodging.

Of the 199,346 visitors hitting our ski, weather and webcan network, more than 68,000 of those were dedicated to looking at the content on the ski websites. That is pretty remarkable considering the fact that only a couple of ski areas have even been open!

Louise Anderson of www.StaySugarMountain.com adds, "That’s very impressive when you consider that people are playing golf this weekend down off the mountain where temperatures are near 70°!"

89,879 visitors have been checking out the new web cams on King Street in Boone, as well as those at Massanutten and Bryce.

Our new weather networl picked up 28,636 of those visitors which is a strong indicator that people are watching the weather as we close in on the Holiday ski period.

Our weather and webcam content is rocketing upwards in growth as new cams and weather stations are going in this week at Appalachian, Winterplace, Timberline, Appalachian and hopefully a few additional ski areas as we grow that partnered network offering LIVE content and temperatures FROM the ski areas themselves.

With traffic reaching these kinds of numbers with NO SNOW on the slopes, we can only speculate that our in-season numbers will rocket up as soon as cold temps and snow hit!
