Safe Sliders Kick-Off
To celebrate the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) National Safety Awareness Week, Wintergreen launches its 2007 Safe Sliders program with an event featuring prizes, giveaways and Ridgeley the Bear on the Blue Ridge Terrace. Targeting children ages seven to 14, the Safe Sliders program promotes a unified safety message by distributing coloring books that feature safety guidelines; providing reflective zipper pulls that attach to children’s jackets; arranging ski helmet giveaways; as well as other presentations and safety programs throughout the season. Safe Sliders, a program developed by Wintergreen Resort and the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital, recently won the Best Youth Safety Program award from the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) and the Excellence in Programming Award from the National Resort and Commercial Recreation Association (RCRA).

January 22-23, 2007
