HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

A foggy Thursday morning in some spots with sunshine and spring weather back in full force for the afternoon…..

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN… We’ll enjoy partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with highs in the middle 50’s. Tonight will be very mild with partly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 30’s and lower 40’s. The week will wrap up with a sprinkle or two on Friday and highs around 50 degrees. The weekend looks to be dry with the mercury holding in the middle and upper 50’s. Some real December temperatures return early next week with highs in the upper 30’s on Tuesday and lows back in the low 20’s.

At SNOWSHOE…. High pressure will keep the area dry and seasonable today through the weekend with temperature in the middle 40’s to around 50 degrees. By Monday, we’ll see a widely scattered rain shower with a high near 50 degrees. Reality returns (finally) for Tuesday with highs in the upper 30’s and low 40’s.

WINTERGREEN, VA & OBER GATLINBURG, TN – Some fog this morning with sunshine and highs near 60 for the afternoon. This trend will end the work week as well. High pressure keeps the area sunny and warm through the weekend and into Monday with upper 50’s and lower 60’s. Noticeably cooler (but no Winter Wonderland) by Tuesday for Wintergreen, with highs in the upper 40’s and lower 50’s. Still in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s for Gatlinburg.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

A foggy morning for the High Country with sunshine back in the picture for mid morning. Look for highs in the middle and upper 50’s and a west wind around 5 mph. Skies are clear tonight with lows in the middle 30’s. The dry and mild pattern stays in place through the weekend with sunny skies and mild readings in the low and middle 50’s for daytime highs. Temperatures will bottom out around freezing at night with mostly clear skies.
