What a difference a day makes! SNOW! Yahoo! It may not be a foot of powder, but it is SNOW nonetheless! So we didn’t have a White Christmas – we DID have a white December 26th and 27th! Here are some numbers that we have thus far. Email us yours:

Appalachian Ski Mountain is reporting 1-3”
Hawksnest – 3” of new snow
Cataloochee – 2” of new snow
Ski Beech – 3” of new snow
Sugar Mountain – 3” of new snow

No report from the others.

MORE NUMBERS!

Other numbers that are exciting this morning are that of the temperatures reported this morning from around the region. The cold spot this morning was Ski Beech with 20°. Sugar and Hawksnest reported 22° and Appalachian was at 23°. Those kind of cold temps are producing some amazing snowmaking possibilities.

We took some snapshots of Appalachian, Hawksnest, Sugar and Beech that we didn’t use from Monday, and we’ll show you some before and afters later. It’s uncanny how much difference 24 hours can make when the cold temps cooperate! Each of the resorts mentioned above look pristine this morning, whereas just two days ago things looked worrisome.

The snow and snowmaking temps will make for some nice conditions on Wednesday. The resorts will be pouring on the snow as long as the temps hold and that will mean even better conditions for Thursday. Get out and enjoy it!

Thanks for the images that were sent in yesterday. If you’re out and about, send us some nice shots from today. We’ll be posting images later today and tonight!
