Each year the West Virginia Ski Areas Association does a campaign to raise marketing dollars to spread the word about winter fun in West Virginia. The association is a non-profit group that serves as the collective voice of the industry.
The Ski Industry in West Virginia means:
· 800,000 visits between late November to early April
· 250 million dollar economic impact not only for the properties, but also off-resort properties, hotels, B&B’s, restaurants, etc.
· 5,000 directly related jobs on and off the resorts
An important part of that fund raising campaign is the sale of their "Mountain Pass Booklet". The Mountain Pass Booklet features 30 anytime one day passes (NO RESTRICTIONS) to Canaan Valley, Snowshoe, Timberline and Winterplace for a total of 120 lift tickets. Also there are 10 passes to White Grass and Elk River Touring Centers for Cross Country skiing. The cost is $2500 per booklet and comes out to under $18 per lift ticket (day pass), well under the window rate at each resort.
An added value is that when you purchase "The Mountain Pass Booklet" you can share or disperse the tickets any way you like to your family, friends or co-workers. You can use them anyway you want.
