Matthew East provides a nice video that tells us what to expect for the few days. Check out the full video via the link at the bottom of this post!
The summary of the update: As we expected – there’s some rain showers that will kick up across all of the mountains of the Southeast and Mid Atlantic on Friday and last into Saturday with a bit more rain across the North Carolina mountains on Friday and Saturday. There’s a little less rain in the mix for the upper West Virginia ski areas on Saturday and they could see that change over to SNOW a little earlier that the North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee ski resort areas.
The expectation is that the rain WILL change over to snow by Saturday evening late and into Sunday and Sunday night. HOW MUCH SNOW is the question and Matthew East is hesitant to forecast ANYTHING just now. Some computer models are forecasting some light snow, others heavy snow and the European Models are forecasting a FOOT of snow for most of the mountains of the Southeast and Mid Atlantic including those in North Carolina.
Matthew has shared that he will probably try to update us with another video update on Friday to give us a picture of what to expect once we’re a little closer.
