Over the river and through the woods, you will find The Country Cabin Farm Retreat. Complete with tasteful furnishings, including many antiques, the cabin also has modern conveniences such as wi-fi, tv, and free phone service. Our guests enjoy the cozy, homey feel of the log cabin and its close proximity to Winterplace. It is close enough that guests can ski during the day, come back to the cabin for lunch or a nap, then return to the resort for fantastic night skiing. Located on Rt. 19 at Spanishburg, WV, this retreat is just four miles from Interstate 77, exit 14 and is easily accessible.

The farm setting in the Bluestone Valley is absolutely beautiful, with the cabin surrounded by mountains and pastures and bordered by the Bluestone River. The cabin was built in the early 1900’s and is a work of art, with all logs cut years ago from the old family sawmill which once stood on the property. Entering the cabin is like a step back in time, offering a wonderful atmosphere for friends and families to enjoy.

The sunporch serves as a great viewing room for watching deer as they graze in the pastures. We also have a resident squirrel, a few rabbits, owls and other little critters that stop by for a visit from time to time.

The kitchen features a large area with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and plenty of cookware and dishes. The cabin also has a washer/dryer. The dining room features an antique dining table with ladder back chairs. The living room has a beautiful stone fireplace, satellite TV, sofa, loveseat and chair.

For those willing to brave the cold, gathering around the outdoor firepit and watching the beautiful night sky is a great way to finish up your day.

Bedrooms are as follows: 1st floor: One bedroom has a queen-size bed, 1 bedroom – twin size bed. Loft: Has 2 full-size beds. All linens and towels provided. Just bring groceries!
