On Snow

We had another blizzard today at Winterplace. The snow guns were blowing on almost all of the open terrain. The snow is starting to pile up on Snow Bowl, Snow Field and Plunge.

The first half of the new expanded teaching area will be open this weekend. It’s 8 times larger than last year, so it takes a lot of snow to open it. This will give the new skiers a great place to work on their new skills. One of the new carpet lifts will be running in the teaching area this weekend. They had people shoveling snow off of the carpet lift today.

Snow making started on Turkey Chute about noon today.

Mid week at Winterplace is great! Very few people were there today. I had the trails and the lifts to myself this morning. This afternoon I taught a three hour private lesson with a eight year old girl. We spent a hour on Highland Run and we were the only two on the trail and lift.
