Timberline Resort in Davis, West Virginia:

What's New for 2007-2008 at Timberline Resort

Tom Blanzy, General Manager, Timberline Four Seasons Resort, recently reported that the ski area had purchased 40 additional snow guns for its ’07-’08 winter season. This recent acquisition is in addition to 60 units purchased last year.

In recent years the resort has installed two new powerful vertical turbine pumps which supplement its water pumping capacity.

Timberline’s consistent and spirited growth has resulted in its being named the best ski area in the coveted “Best in Region” award for three consecutive past years by a poll of readers in the largest regional newspaper of North Central West Virginia. The popularity of the resort has also been expressed statewide in a recent poll of Graffiti Magazine whose readers voted Timberline “Best of the Best Places for Wintertime Sports” in an early winter edition.

Area Description:

Timberline Resort is a favorite of visitors to the region for a number of reasons.  One is the amount of snow they receive - an average of 150" per season; another is its challenging terrain that offers 36 trails with something for everyone. Experienced skiers and snowboarders will find all sorts of steeps, moguls and bumps throughout Timberline's terrain. However, beginners love the two mile long Salamander trail because of its gentle slope...making for a great place to practice turns, etc.

During good snowfalls visitors can enjoy miles of cross country skiing terrain.

Beginner and experienced snowboarders love Timberline as well, because not only is snowboarding allowed on all of its slopes and trails, there are two distinct terrain parks with tons of features as well as 30-50 foot jumps and hits.

Night skiing is available on 30% of the trails on Thursdays through Sundays.
