Timberline Resort Releases Information about Lift Malfunction This Morning
We normally HOLD these kinds of stories since it is our practice not to release information unless the ski areas themselves do. However, Timberline Resort has tweeted and West Virginia Metro News and WDTR and WOWK Television has shared reports with input from officials at Timberline and through West Virginia Ski Areas Association Spokesperson, Joe Stevens.
Timberline posted this to their TWITTER followers:
DAVIS, W.Va. — Approximately 25 skiers fell off a ski lift Saturday morning at the Timberline Resort in Tucker County.
The accident happened at around 9 a.m.
Timberline put out a message on Twitter.
“The Thunderstruck triple lift is not operating. We do not have all details at this time and our immediate focus is on our skiers,” the tweet said.
Reports indicate skiers fell to the ground at the lowest level of the lift and only two skiers had to be transported to a hospital.
“We understand the injuries are minor,” West Virginia Ski Areas Association spokesman Joe Stevens told MetroNews. “Non-life-threatening injuries.”
