Thursday Morning Updates –

First Trax

Stay up to date by getting notified of new posts!

I have a very busy schedule this morning so I am posting this update to both SkiNC.com and SkiSoutheast.com, hence the reference to additional coverage areas.

Thus far we’re seeing only a good dusting of snow around most areas of the High Country. The most being reported right now is Ski Beech with 1" of snow thus far at about 8am. You can tell looking at the live cams that Appalachian in Blowing Rock has had a light dusting thus far, Ski Beech has had about one inch as of 8:15am, and there is a good dusting to 1/2 inch around Sugar, Banner Elk and other areas of the High Country. If you have a moment, Email me at: [email protected] and provide us with accurate snow tallies at your location.

Snowshoe Resort in West Virginia has also reported about 1-2" thus far today. The rest of the region from Western North Carolina through the Virginias, West Virginia and Maryland are all reporting a light dusting to about an inch of snow thus far.

We actually had some brilliant blue skies and sun popping through for a few minutes at 8am…and now it has clouded back up and is snowing pretty good as of this report.
