Let’s get right to Brad’s latest weather update. Snow lovers will LOVE IT!

Forecast Update:

The first half of the snowstorm will slowly wind down this afternoon as the low pressure system moves up the coast. As this happens the winds and flow are swinging around to the North and Northwest. This is when the second part of this storm begins to take shape. As the flows backs to the northwest the snow starts flying again tonight especially along and west of the Blue Ridge. Some energy swinging into the Eastern trough over the next 48 hours will bring more snow over the North Carolina high country and into the Virginias. The snow will last well into Wednesday and with the duration of the persistent snow totals by Wednesday will easily be over 12” at elevation of 3500’ or higher along and East of the Blue ridge. So even with the small lull this afternoon, snow will continue for the next 48 hours or so in the mountains.

West Virginia and Virginia could see higher total around 12-15” at places like Snowshoe, Winterplace and Timberline resort.

Updates to follow as conditions warrant.
