HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

The Christmas outlook….. For now it’s looking cool and wet for Christmas Eve night, with a chance of at least some light snow up North for Christmas Day, and a rain snow mix elsewhere. By Christmas night and the day after most everyone could get into the act with some light snow.

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN… . A leftover isolated morning shower on Saturday with temperatures jumping up into the lower 50’s. Winds may get a little gusty from the west between 15 and 25 mph. Partly Cloudy with low 40’s for Christmas Eve Day. Chilly rain showers (60%) on Christmas Monday with highs in the middle and upper 30’s.. Tuesday will bring snow showers and temperatures in the low 30’s.

At SNOWSHOE… Kicking off the holiday weekend on Saturday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 40’s. On Christmas Eve the clouds are back with isolated snow showers (20%) in the morning. Temperatures will be back around 40 by the afternoon. A cold rain (80%) for Christmas Day with highs in the upper 30’s switching to light snow Monday night. Full winter mode on Tuesday with highs in the middle 20’s.

WINTERGREEN, VA – Partly cloudy skies for Saturday with highs warming up a bit, back into the upper 50’s. Sunny for Christmas Eve with highs around 50 degrees. Look for rain showers (60%) with temperatures in the low 40’s on Christmas Day. Tuesday looks mostly cloudy with shower and temperatures near 40 degrees.

OBER GATLINBURG, TN – A partly cloudy start to the weekend on Saturday with highs in the upper 50’s. Sunshine on Christmas Eve with highs in the middle 50’s. Rain is likely (70%) on Christmas Day with highs in the middle 40’s. Rain showers change to light snow showers over Monday night into Tuesday with a few lingering snow flakes Tuesday (30%) and temperatures in the middle 30’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

Saturday the clouds will be on the decrease with highs around 50’s to kick off the Holiday Weekend. A lot of sunshine for Christmas Eve with highs returning to the 50 degree mark. More rain showers (70%) on Christmas Day and cooler with highs in the lower 40’s.. Rain showers change to light snow Monday night as the mercury falls into the middle 20’s. Scattered snow showers stick around for Tuesday when temperatures only make it into the middle 30’s.
