HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

For WISP, TIMBERLINE & CANAAN…. Snow coming down today with an additional 2 to 4 inches piling up as temperatures hover around 23 degrees. An additional 2 to 5 inches of snow for tonight with the mercury within 3 or 4 degrees of the big "Goose Egg" (zero). Ending the week Friday with a 40% chance of light snow into the early afternoon with a high around 18degrees. Snow showers (40%) to kick off the weekend with temperatures near 30 degrees Saturday afternoon.

SNOWSHOE…. A near 100% snow chance today with 3 to 6 inches piling up and frigid readings on the mercury around 11 degrees. More likely snow for tonight with another 2 to 4 inches and lows in the -3 to 0 degree range, but the wind chill will make it fell like -10 to -15. An isolated early snow shower lingering into Friday morning, with a dusting to an inch possible, then mostly cloudy with temperatures in the upper teens.

WINTERGREEN…. Scattered flakes (30%) are in the picture for today with a high around 32 degrees. Possible accumulations from a half inch to an inch. More flurries through tonight with a low around 13 degrees, and a biting northwest wind gusting up to around 35 mph. Sunny and cold for Friday temperatures in the upper 20’s.

OBER GATLINBURG…. A 50% chance of snow showers today, with a dusting to half an inch possible. Temperatures eventually climb into the upper 30’s. More isolated (20%) snow showers into Thursday night with temperatures in the lower teens. Sunshine returns for Friday with temperatures in the low 40’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….
Snow likely across the High Country today with a high around 28 degrees and a gusty west wind up to 30 mph. Look for 2 to 4 inches of accumulation. Blustery conditions continue Thursday night with another couple of inches new snow possible in some areas. Lows will fall into the middle teens. The week wraps up with partly cloudy skies on Friday. Highs will be in the low 30’s. Kicking off the weekend with temperatures in the middle 40’s. Isolated rain showers (20%) in the afternoon may change to light snow toward Saturday evening.
