The Anatomy of a Ski Trip – We’re on the Road Early

First Trax

Stay up to date by getting notified of new posts!

Well, it’s the day after Christmas and our staff (as small as it is) are visiting with family and friends.  Yours truly is hitting the road early on a ski vacation of my own and therefore I hit the road prior to most of the ski area report updates. About the only resort that updates at 3am is Appalachian Ski Mountain, and most start coming in from 6am-8am and as I am on the road early I have updated the ski reports with what we feel will be about 95% accurate, which still beats most reporting services!

If you want to verify with near 100% efficiency today, we’re going to recommend that you click on whichever of the links below references your particular ski area of interest. These links will take you right to the ski resort’s slope conditions page. (We’ve updated the report late on Christmas night with the most likely scenario for each resort, based on the fact that very few resorts will make snow overnight tonight and most won’t be adding more open terrain to what they had open today or Wednesday. )

Appalachian certainly could go to 10 trails open or 100% on Friday, and you may see another trail or two open within the West Virginia or Maryland ski areas, and if so we’ll update those later in the day on Friday or at least by Saturday AM.

We’ve also updated ALL of the individual resorts pages on the website to include all the latest links to Photos of the Day for each ski area, as well as snowfall totals to date (and years past), so feel free to look around.

Since we’re on a ski getaway of our own, we’ll update you with some photos, video and more.

Here are the links to the slope conditions pages of each resort. Check back later in the day as we still have some details to knock out on the latest vacation giveaway and we’ll try to post that by Saturday as well. Stay tuned for your chance to win a FREE TWO NIGHT STAY, FREE SKIING and FREE SKI RENTALS…all compliments SkiSoutheast.com and our Partners. More to come. I’m on the road!
