Back on January 24th we posted an announcement that was sent to us by the people at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia telling us about the planned family snow fun park that will debut in about 10 months. Seems there’s a lot of interest as we received more than a few emails asking us for more information. We don’t have a lot more to share with you just yet, but we were able to obtain a copy of the artist rendering of what the park will look like..
Mike Duchock, the Marketing Coordinator for Stone Mountain Park in Georgia just contacted us and here’s the deal. Stone Mountain Park will open the “Coca-Cola® Snow Mountain” in November of 2007 that will feature three football fields of deep snow including a 400’ tubing hill and a 13,000 square foot play area!
The new area will open as part of a Stone Mountain Christmas Celebration.
Situated on what is commonly known as the “laser lawn,” the family snow park includes 10 tubing runs, places to make the ultimate snowmen and snow angels, a snowball making zone and an area for younger kids. In addition, the snow park has various sites from which to view the activities including a snow lodge with an observation deck, a group of warming chalets and a bonfire for roasting marshmallows and making s’mores.

“Using state of the art equipment, Coca-Cola® Snow Mountain will feature more than 200 tons of fresh snow daily. To our knowledge, this is the first time in the U.S. an outdoor snow park of this scope has been created in this type of climate,” said Anthony Esparza, Vice President of Guest Experiences, Herschend Family Entertainment.
Plans are for the new family snow park to be open all weekends from November 10, 2007 through January 27, 2008 plus everyday during Christmas holidays. Coca-Cola® has already agreed to be the attraction’s title sponsor.
“Every day is a snow day at Coca-Cola® Snow Mountain! We believe this new park will draw families together by appealing to everyone, from the young to the young at heart,” said Brad Taylor, Global Director, Entertainment & Customer Alliances, Coca-Cola® North America. “Building upon our longstanding support of Stone Mountain Christmas, Coca-Cola® is helping to foster family traditions by bringing Snow Mountain to Atlantans.”
In addition to Coca-Cola® Snow Mountain, guests can continue to enjoy the traditional favorites at a Stone Mountain Christmas. Activities include the nightly Snowfall & Fireworks Celebration, Live Shows, the Snow Angel, the Train Ride, the nightly grand entrance of Santa Claus, shopping, dining and more.
