HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

The Christmas outlook… it cloud be worse. For now it’s looking cool and wet for Christmas Eve, with a chance of at least some light snow up North for Christmas Day, and a rain snow mix elsewhere. It’s Christmas night and the day after that most everyone could get into the act with some snow all around. Winter begins this evening at 7:22 pm.

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN… Rain showers move in today with highs in the middle 40’s. Showers stick around for tonight and become more widespread with lows in the middle 40’s. Wet with an 80% rain chance for Friday and highs in the middle and upper 40’s. A leftover morning shower on Saturday with temperatures in the upper 40’s.

At SNOWSHOE… Showers move in for today (50%) with highs in the middle 40’s. More rain likely for this evening, with temperatures falling into the upper 30’s. Cloudy with rain likely to wrap up the week on Friday with highs in the middle 40’s. Winds will be gusty at times out of the west 15 to 25 mph. Some lingering morning showers on Saturday with highs in the low and middle 40’s.

WINTERGREEN, VA – A mostly cloudy day with highs in the low 50’s and an isolated shower 20% for the afternoon in Wintergreen. A 60% rain chance tonight with lows in the upper 30’s. A wet Friday with highs in the upper 40’s…. the rain continues Friday night with steady temperatures in the upper 40’s. Mainly morning showers on Saturday with highs warming up a bit, back into the middle 50’s.

OBER GATLINBURG, TN – Mostly cloudy today with south winds pushing temperatures near the 50 degree mark. Rain showers (80%) especially for the late afternoon. The rain holds for tonight with upper 40’s on the mercury. A windy and wet Friday with highs in the middle 50’s. Winds will gust from the south at around 25 mph. A lingering morning shower on Saturday with highs in the low 50’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

Look for occasional rain (80%) today, especially in the afternoon with highs in the upper 40’s and low 50’s. Rain and patchy fog for the overnight period with temperatures bottoming out around 40. More rain likely on Friday, heavy at times, with highs in the low 50’s. After a lingering morning shower on Saturday, clouds will be on the decrease with highs in the mid 50’s to kick off the Holiday Weekend.
