Well the Mountain Ops guys waited to the last day of the year to spring another surprise on everyone, by opening the only Halfpipe in the region.
The 400 ft. Halfpipe with 12 ft sidewalls opened Friday in the Mountaineer Terrain Park at Snowshoe Mountain’s Silver Creek Area. Even though the temperatures have been mild the last couple of days around here, the snowmakers had made enough snow before the warm up to be able to dig out the pipe. After the pipe was opened, it didn’t take long for the snowboarders to start having some fun. (We featured one of the photos in our Photo Gallery pages.)
