There is much anticipation around the resort for the upcoming winter, largely due to the snowmaking upgrades made to the resort’s Western Territory prior to last season. “We came away from last winter very impressed with the new snowguns on the Western Territory,” said Ken Gaitor, Head of Mountain Operations “With their efficiency and the quality of their output, all we need are some seasonal temperatures heading into this winter and you’ll likely see Cupp Run open earlier than ever before.”

The snowmaking upgrades consisted of 75 new innovative, low-energy snowguns from top to bottom on Snowshoe’s legendary Cupp Run, a 1.5 mile black diamond slope with a 1,500ft. vertical drop, the largest vertical drop in the region.

Snow Guarantee

As always, Snowshoe will extend their Snow Guarantee, promising more skiable terrain open than any other Southeastern ski area from December 16, 2016 through March 12, 2017, or your next day of skiing is free.
