SkiSoutheast Hires Tonette Fisk as New Communications / Public Relations Director
Boone, North Carolina – October 19, 2012 – SkiSoutheast.com has announced that Tonette Fisk has been named SkiSoutheast’s new Director of Communications and Public Relations. In this position she will be overseeing the key contact and communications with all of our member ski area management, owners, and marketing staffs to better communicate the message of what is happening at all of the resorts within the Southeast and Mid Atlantic.
She will also work with our media partners within our television outreach, newspaper travel writers, and more to share the news of events, specials, snow conditions, and more.
Among her additional duties will be the morning BLOGS to share our message with our readers and to activate and grow our outreach with social media.
"This is our seventeenth year of covering the snow sports industry in the region and although we’ve always enjoyed great visitation and participation with the website, we want to truly grow that audience and make it even more beneficial for our readers, our partners, and our advertisers," says Mike Doble.
He adds, "Tonette has been a vital part of our team here at AppNet for some time now and she’s a great talent in terms of content writing and working with our national and regional client base. There is no question that our resort and media partners will enjoy her input and we’re looking forward to a great season ahead."
Tonette grew up in Northeastern PA and moved to Boone North Carolina in the fall of 2010 when her husband took the Assistant Wrestling Coach position at App State. She admits that she’s not a pro at skiing or snowboarding, but has enjoyed skiing up in PA at Montage and Elk Mountain. Ice skating is her winter sport of choice, but having taken on this position and living so close to numerous resorts, she vows to trade in her skates for boots and hit the slopes.
"I am very excited to be joining SkiSoutheast, and am more than ready to become a snow junkie at its finest," says Tonette.
Tonette assumes this position effective immediately and will coordinate content along with Kenny Griffin, Joe Stevens, Herb Stevens, Brad Panovich, and Mike Doble.
