First, I took some images with my camera phone but they didn’t turn out the best and I met some of the skinc people last night and they were taking a bunch of photos so I’ll let them show you what I am writing about. It was great meeting Mike, the guy that does skinc and his people looked like they knew how to have fun!
Me and my brother got up to Hawksnest at lunchtime and conditions were pretty nice with the weather in the upper 30s and no snowmaking. The conditions were pretty nice although they did not have the terrain park running as yet. One of the lift ops told me they were trying to get it open for Saturday. The top of the mountain was pretty nice although there were some icy areas. Top Gun had a treacherous place or two and I only boarded it twice before the evening sessions.
After some snacks and a break we hit it again at 6:30pm and there were only a few people on the mountain and no lift lines and nearly perfect groomin’. I tried Top Gun again with some of the crew from skinc in front of me and it was really very nice for the first 2/3rds and there was only a place or two that was kind of rough.
