Already this year the West Virginia resort has seen the season’s first snowfall, and was also able to make snow for a 24 hour period earlier this month. The resort anticipates restarting snowmaking efforts next week, and plans a November 25th Opening Day. Last season the resort saw tremendous early season snow totals and was able to open 5 days earlier than scheduled, a feat the hope to repeat this season. Long term forecasts for the mid-Atlantic and Southeast are calling for a long, cold, snowy winter, the perfect conditions for a strong snow season for Snowshoe and other regional resorts.
