HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

For WISP, TIMBERLINE & CANAAN….Snow showers continue for Wednesday morning (30% chance) with an additional half inch possible. Temperatures will only make it into the low 20’s . Skies will be partly cloudy Wednesday night with only a flurry or two as temperatures bottom out around 10 degrees. More occasional snow for Thursday and Friday (50%) with highs in the middle 20’s.

SNOWSHOE…. A Very cold Wednesday with a 30% chance of morning snow showers bringing a dusting to a half inch accumulation. Highs will top out around 15 degrees with wind chill values around -20 degrees. A 60% chance of snow on Thursday and lasting through Friday with highs in the upper 20’s.

WINTERGREEN…. Sunshine settles in for Wednesday with a high temperature around the freezing mark. Clouds are on the increase Wednesday night with lows in the upper teens. Thursday will bring a 50% chance of snow with a high around 30 degrees. Thursday night a possible wintry mix of snow and freezing rain as temperatures hold nearly steady in the upper 20’s. A few clouds linger into Friday with a high around 40 degrees.

OBER GATLINBURG….More sunshine and upper 30’s for Wednesday, but snow moves in for Wednesday night (60%) with a low around 22 degrees. Thursday’s weather is a mixed bag of snow, freezing rain or rain with temperatures in the low and middle 30’s. Freezing rain is likely (70%) on Thursday night with a low around 30 degrees.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….
Partly cloudy skies across the High Country for Wednesday with highs in the upper 20’s and wind chills in the single digits. Clouds move in with a 30% chance of snow late Wednesday night and a low temperature around 22 degrees. Things get interesting Thursday with periods of snow into the afternoon and possibly changing to rain or sleet. Light accumulations are possible. Temperatures will warm to around the freezing mark. More of a mix for Thursday night with steady readings on the mercury around 30 degrees. Temperatures warm up slightly into the middle 30’s to end the week with a 30% chance of a rain/snow mix.
