For those of you who have filled our inbox with questions about the weather AND whether or not there will be cold enough air to crank up the snowguns and get the ski season going for the rest of the ski areas…like the old George Michael song said, “You gotta have faith, faith, faith.”

The good news is that the heavy rains of Wednesday are gone and the next few days will be below normal for highs and lows. In fact, night time temps will be good enough in most high elevations to make snow POSSIBLY Thursday night and then definitely Friday night, as well as Saturday through Tuesday nights! Look for the snowguns to crank up at the ski resorts and don’t be surprised if some resorts don’t open on Sunday or Monday. We’ll leave the resort openings prognosticating to SkiNC.com…so on to the weather!

Thursday, Friday and Saturday should be relatively nice with highs Thursday around 58° and lows Thursday night near freezing. We might see snow scattered snow flurries Friday morning, and then a high of 43° and Friday night’s low near 28°. Saturday will be about the same and then Sunday and Monday look for Snow showers and highs in the mid to upper 30s and lows in the low to mid 20s. THAT is snowmaking temps people!
