Winter Weather Cooperates for Snowmaking and the Event Calendar is Full at Ober Gatlinburg

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (January 27, 2017) — With the recent heatwave behind us, Ober Gatlinburg is happy to announce the reopening of Tennessee’s only Ski and Snowboard Area tomorrow, Saturday at 11am. Ober Gatlinburg Snowmakers have been busy since late Thursday night and have continued to make snow since. Cub Way, Castle Run and Ski School will all open at 11 am with a 10”-15” base. Snow is also being made on Mogul Ridge and will reopen once there is a sufficient amount of snow. The new Magic Carpet on the Ski School slope is Ober Gatlinburg’s latest addition to ease new participants into the sports of Skiing and Snowboarding. For the most up-to-date information, please check the slope report on Ober Gatlinburg’s website.

For our guests, we have plenty of on-slope and slope-side activities for the rest of the season. Ober Gatlinburg is proud to announce that last year, 7,400 lbs. of food donations were presented to the Sevier County Food Ministry by College Night and Ladies Night participants.
