HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

We’re climbing out of the deep freeze this weekend… but still some good snow making weather to be had.

WISP RESORT – Sunny skies Saturday with highs around the freezing mark. Winds will be out of the southwest around 5 to 10 mph. We’ll drop into the 8 or 9 degree range Saturday night with clear conditions. More blue skies for Sunday with highs in the lower 40’s. Sunshine continues through Tuesday with highs in the low and middle 40’s.

TIMBERLINE and CANAAN – Look for mostly sunny skies Saturday with highs in the middle 30’s. Winds will be out of the southwest around 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures bottom out around 5 degrees or so with clear skies Saturday night. Sunshine returns for Sunday with highs in the middle 40’s. Sunshine continues through Tuesday with highs in upper 40’s and lower 50’s.

SNOWSHOE – Plenty of sunshine for Saturday with a high around 32 or 33 degrees, with a west wind around 5 mph. Look for clear skies Saturday night as temperatures settle down into the upper teens. Sunshine returns for Sunday with highs in the low and middle 40’s. Sunshine continues through Tuesday with highs in upper 40’s and lower 50’s.

WINTERGREEN, VA & OBER GATLINBURG, TN – Look for mostly sunny skies Saturday with highs in the low to middle 40’s. Winds will be out of the west around 5 to 10 mph. Clear skies hold for Saturday night with temperatures in the upper teens. Blue skies and warmer weather for Sunday with the mercury climbing into the upper 40’s and lower 50’s… and we’re talkin’ mid to upper 50’s by Tuesday.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

High pressure builds in across the southeast, with sunshine temperatures in the lower 40’s Saturday. Winds will only push up to around 10 mph from the west. Clear skies and a light wind on Saturday night will allow temperatures to bottom out in the middle teens. More sunshine on Sunday with middle to upper 40’s in the High Country. On into early next week, we’ll maintain this pattern, and possibly break in to the 50 degree range in some places.
