Last night a few resorts reported a healthy bit of snow with Snowshoe getting 2″, while Canaan, Timberline, and Wisp all receiving about an inch. The other nicety is that probably 2/3 of the resorts that didn’t receiving the natural stuff, made snow. Specifically, Cataloochee made 2″ which should help them get to their goal date of “March 31st, or later” this season.

The biggest news is upcoming as WV, VA, MD, and parts of NC will receive a significant snow fall tonight and tomorrow (day). The most encouraging news from the High Country Weather outlook is that VA SHOULD see similar snow totals to WV. Looks like Homestead COULD see 3-7″ tonight, with another 3-5″ tomorrow. Bryce with a projected storm total of 5-11″, Wintergreen 5-9″, and Mass with 4-6+”.

The early snow starts later today in the very highest elevations of NC, so stay tuned to one of the biggest snowfalls of 2019, to date!
