Well, we didn’t see any snow last night, but we did see temps get down below freezing at 2 (of 3) open resorts. Snowshoe got down to 27F, but couldn’t quite groom a couple of their runs because of the sog. Wisp hit 26F this morning and was able to groom all but ‘The Face’. Cataloochee was a touch above freezing at 37F, but showing groomed runs throughout.
This afternoon looks ideal though, so it might actually be better to get last chair vs. first chair today.
Tonight, all locations get below freezing with warm sun in the afternoon. This should make tomorrow a pick day of the mid-week. I plan to get out there tomorrow for my last mid-week day of the season! See you on the slopes

- Snowshoe Mountain:
- “We may have some lingering clouds and fog this morning but expect that to move out, making way for a really nice afternoon with blue skies, sunshine and temperatures in the 40’s.”
- 37 (of 42) groomed . . . “It was a bit on the wet side last night so our groomers stayed off most of the steep terrain (black diamonds and some blues).”
- “The forecast looks great for the next several days so get up here and enjoy some excellent spring skiing.”
- Cataloochee: “Day 132 and going strong . . . Conditions continue to be great for late season skiing”
- Today we will be skiing and riding on a base of 20-60″ on 13 slopes and four lifts and offer one session: day skiing from 9am-4:30pm with a morning or afternoon half day rate available. The quad lift will not be running.
- We have 7 features in our terrain parks located on Upper Turkey Trot, Richards Run, and Short n Sweet.

- 15 runs (14 groomed) with 3 lifts running from 9am to 5pm.
- 30″ groomed / variable base
