The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

FOLKS

My Name is DT-- its short for David Tolleris. I am a well known Energy and Grain Meteorologist located here in Richmond VA.

Here is the WEB site : http://wxrisk.com

and you can find me on FB https://www.facebook.com/WxRisk

and I am also on Twitter.

I forecast for wintergreen and Catalooche and a few others and some locations in the Great Lakes region as well.

One of the things I do DIFFERENTLY is the period of time I focus on. You see when you are the energy and AG trading fields most of the emphasis is on NOT the next 48 hrs ( which is where NWS is) but on day 3 day 7 day 10 day 12... out to 30 days.

Because I forecast in this time frame 7 days a week....365 days a year... all around the world... (anyone want to know about the developing Winter Wheat drought in the Ukraine and sw Russia?... just ask !!) the skills in this special type of forecasting have gotten to be pretty damn good. Ask me anbout Tornadoes and I often yawn.

For example the OCT 29 " surprise" Northeast snowstorm that hit the elevations over 800 feet ? My first post on that event -- the threat of a historic damaging snowstorm in portions of the ne-- was made OCT 22.

ANYWAY from time to time you are likely to see posts from me about winter weather patterns.

NOT before NOV 29-30.

The issue is the huge Upper Low in the Jet stream... called a POLAR VORTEX (PV) for short ... that is over Alaska and the Yukon.
