I started all 3 of mine out at 3 yrs old. Just rent some skis. Have them put them on several times before you go out. Let them get used to the feeling and what they can and can't do. Teach how to get up in the warmth of home. This also helps to build up excitement. That way they have that skill before they land in the cold snow.

Little hands freeze in 20 min. Keep gloves on them.

Patience. More patience. I didn't even wear my skis at first. Skip the lift till they can slide. We went to Massanutten a lot and I would walk them up the hill on foot and get them used to sliding. The moving walkways help to in the learning areas once they can balance well.

DONT make it stressful. No matter what happens.. it's All Good. Fall or fly. Praise the effort not the result!

Don't be such snowflakes. Take them up the lift, help them off at top of Freestyle and tell them you'll see them at the lodge with french fries when they make it down. Works every time.
