Planning on riding on Friday (day session) at Sugar or Beech. Leaning towards Sugar because my wife and kids will be dropping me off/ picking me up and she is not a huge fan of the drive up Beech from Banner Elk. Anyone else going to be around?

We are going to hit Sugar this morning and was planning on Beech tomorrow for their opening day. Sugar didn't look great on the cams yesterday but it looks better this morning. They were blowing snow when we got into town late yesterday so we'll see how it is.

If you were more inclined towards Beech tomorrow I may be able to give you a ride up from Banner Elk if you were interested. If my wife decides to go and give it a shot (which doesn't look likely) it may be a little tight with her and my two kids in my little SUV.

I'll be the goon in a grey jacket and helmet, black pants, and black/green skis and boots. I'll be there right at opening.

I am also going to try to be there first thing. We will see if we can get the kiddos moving and into the car early enough. I will be in a blue jacket that says us ski team on the back with some advertising patches on the front (I got it several years ago at Marshall's) I'm not that good... And some khaki pants, and green beanie, with a green/ blue and orange Ride snowboard with black bindings. You may or may not be able to notice that my pockets are full of beers... Does sky bar serve food? Trying to plan ahead... What does beech typically have opened this early in the season?

Yeah, definitely get there first thing because if it's anything like Sugar today it won't be very good by noon.

I think they will only have the one run from top to bottom open.
