When I got back from the 120 in of snow week in Utah with the fellas and gals, all homes I had had been sold and I had so many people wanting homes still. Havent skied since. Itching to this year. Looking to buy some Soul 7s. They rocked in the bottomless powder last January

I have the first gen Soul7. Love them in the pow, and okay on soft groomers but they do chatter like tin cans on typical midA hardpack/ice. I hear the 2nd gen is a little better. I wouldn't recommend as a one-ski quiver.

Since I am a Ski whore... I have plenty of daily skis.
I have the Aspen core K2 Fujatives for tight tree runs and jumps. Have the Head Mojo 90s for daily goats and hard pack mtn days... but they just don't float my big headed self. Need me some dep powder skis

The Soul7 is only 106 at waist so if you really want the deep stuff your big head should look at the Super HD or RD.

They were awesome in all but the deepest fluff last year. May just rent some again this year for my western rambling

You do realize this will be the best pow season for mid-atlantic and you won't find those boards available on a pow day.

I was really impressed with the Salomon Q116 I skied in the PNW last year. IMO, the fatter waist is more necessary as the snow gets denser, 95-100 is great in cold smoke but when the temps and moisture content rise you need some big boys.

Side note: I picked some up from EVO in June for $300.

Seriously, 116 . I guess the old shamans were the widest thing I've skiied and they were pretty cool. An Icelantic guy told me they are so beloved they may reintroduce them but I bet they won't or if they do they will tweak it and mess it up

BUT, I have a question for you, in April I think two years ago I was at Crystal and the mountain was melting, everyones skis were sticking except for the locals who were pulling out their old school 80 to 85 waist skis.

It was a great mountain and it killed me that my skis (108 I think ) were sucking so bad; It seemed like thin was better that time

whatever though, the first time I rode the lift to the top and saw Rainier right there in your face just across that valley, wow. i want to go back to that place
