Windy and Cold…

Arctic air has invaded the region for our Monday. Some upslope snow showers will
occur in parts of the mountains. Only minor accumulations will occur in North Carolina, but
a few inches will probably fall up in some Virginias and Maryland locations.

Wind will be a big story Monday with wind gusts over 60 or 70mph at times. Be careful
out there! Highs temps will struglle to make it into the low to mid 30s.

Lots of cold weather in on tap for the next few days. Up around Snowshoe, high temps will
probably not get out of the 20s through Thursday with 30s in Maryland and 30s and 40s
for the North Carolina mountains. Low temps will be in the teens in parts of the Virginias
and Maryland and teens and 20s in the higher spots in the North Carolina mountains.

After today, in terms of precip, snow shower chances will continue in the Virginias
and Maryland while most of North Carolina will be precip-free Tuesday and Thursday.

A clipper system will swing through and bring the chance for some light snows to all of
the mountains Wednesday and Wednesday night.
