Marti Rodgers Provides a Trip Report for Timberline

On Snow

I have been watching the webcams at your prompting and reading up on Timberline for the last couple of years and decided to give them a chance. We normally ski at Winterplace and Snowshoe when we go to West Virginia. We’re from Virginia. Anyways, at SkiSoutheast’s urging I decided to take my wife and two kids to Timberline for a change. Winterplace looked pretty skimpy according to the snow reports, so that helped make our decision. Anyways, we loved Timberline. I want to make another trek up there when everything is open. We just returned home on Friday, but skied their mid-week and lucked out to ski the days it wasn’t raining!

They only had one black slope open (White Lightning I think) and it was sketchy in spots, but "Almost Heaven" was pretty cool for a blue.  The rest of the open terrain was green, beginner terrain but all in all it was nice to ski some different slopes. Timberline is pretty laid back and you kind of have the feel that they like it that way!

I recommend Timberline to anyone who hasn’t visited there. It’s a pretty cool resort.  The snow was pretty good, with good side to side coverage on the slopes they had open. Thanks for a great website and a chance to share.
