It’s Another Cold Weekend and That’s Great for the Resorts

It’s SkiSoutheast Summit Weekend and 137 snow loving fans have come to Snowshoe Mountain for the weekend’s fun and we’ve been rewarded with 6″ of new, natural snow! It seems to happen every year that our group gets blessed with great conditions. The winds were howling late on Friday and in that wind tunnel that they call a Village last night, but that too is part of winter in the mountains.

Snowmaking is happening in every state except Tennessee as Ober is closed for the season for skiing and snowboarding. We’ve already posted the SNOW REPORT and it was great to see Appalachian and Sugar Mountain making snow this morning – as was Wintergreen, Winterplace, Timberline and Snowshoe.

Meteorologist Brad Panovich and Kenny Griffin are heading over here to my Highland House unit this morning for an attempt at a FirstTracks video and whether that goes off without a hitch or not, we will be broadcasting either LIVE or pre-recorded from the Boathouse deck at 1pm or so as COO Frank DeBerry of Snowshoe Mountain is going to be sharing a special announcement with our peeps.

So if you’re reading this and here at Snowshoe, come on down and JOIN US at The Boathouse for some free eats and drinks. Kenny and I, along with Joe Stevens, Brad Panovich, David McCue and hopefully a bunch of you guys will be at The Boathouse around 12:15pm to setup and then let’s hang for lunch and some announcements and then hit the slopes for some video.

If you have anything to share (photos, videos, comments, questions), the best way is to email me at [email protected]

Also, be sure to join us on Instagram and Facebook and share your comments. Also, we invite you to check out our SnoForum (Messageboard) and JOIN FOR FREE and post your questions and meet fellow snow-loving friends.
